When Life Hands You Lemons Book Cover Illustration

This cover was such a fun project to bring to life. The concept plays on the title When Life Hands You Lemons—literally—with two hands raising mason jars of lemonade in a celebratory cheers. I wanted the illustration to feel bright, fresh, and playful while still keeping a clean, modern look that would stand out on a shelf or in a digital bookstore.

The bold custom typography pairs with the hand-drawn lemon elements to tie everything together, while the warm tones and textures give the design an inviting, uplifting vibe. It’s the kind of cover that makes you want to reach for the story inside (and maybe a glass of lemonade, too).

I even outlined a brief rom-com story to go with this cover, which who knows, maybe one day I’ll actually write it ;-)
